EB Fitness

It’s summer and of course, we all wanted our summer bodies pre-summer but most of us aren’t there yet. I’m definitely one of those people who haven’t quite reached their summer body goals. Thankful for a great friend with a great business that’s in health and fitness.

Lexus Charleston Fashion Week

This year Lexus Charleston Fashion Week did things a bit different. As opposed to one week full of shows they broke it up into events instead.

The first event was held at the Cedar Room on Friday, March 22, 2019. This kickoff featured curated pop- up shops from top glam brands; beauty tips, tricks, and touchups; tasty cocktails alongside lite bites; high energy entertainment and interactive experiences, topped off with an after-party.

BLACK

Cherish Me
I sprang up from mother earth
She clothed me in her own colors
I was nourished by father sun
He glazed the pottery of my skin
I am beautiful by design
The pattern of the night in my hair
The pattern of music in my rhythm
As you would cherish a thing of beauty
Cherish me.

What you can’t see in these photos was the pain inside from life’s unexpected curve-balls but that’s life, no matter what we’ve got to push through. I’ve been here before and I know it only gets better. My pain had purpose and I’m determined, passionate, and will continue to pursue what’s meant for me. Sometimes some of our greatest work comes from broken places and broken moments. Allow yourself to live in it and feel every emotion in that moment because it’s momentary not a life sentence.

Mommy & Me

In honor of Mother’s Day I wanted to take a trip down memory lane. There are so many things I could have done but I wanted to dedicate this special Blogpost to my mother.

Often times we think we know our mothers like the back of our hand, but I’ve learned its best to ask them and hear their heart. I recently asked my mom what was her favorite memory of us and I was shocked. Mainly because I would have never guessed it. That’s why it’s her favorite memory. So here goes…

Every other Friday after school I’d meet my mom down at her job. Going to her job was like hanging with the girls. My mother worked for one of the largest non profits in Brooklyn, NY CAMBA as a social worker. The office was close to one the most popping corners in Brooklyn at the time. The corner of Church ave and Flatbush.

It was a little castle and to be honest in my head it was my castle. The house was old but had so much charm from the large front porch to the hidden stairway in the back. My mother’s co-worker had the cutest sons and we’d play up and down the stairs and in and out the rooms. My moms co-workers were so much fun. Her boss was the best ever. She left and imprint on my heart with her bubbly personality and boss moves.

After my Friday visits my mother and I would walk to the Dominican hair salon on Church ave. It was our little home away from home. Of course we knew all the stylist and they actually became family. Turns out I went to school with the owners daughter. It wasn’t your average salon visit it was family time. I’d listen as my mother spoke her native tongue Spanish with the ladies and I’d chime in every so often. This is where I was able to practice speaking Spanish with others and not just my mom. It was our time. In between washes and deep conditions I’d fill my mom in on the school tea. We’d order Spanish food of course and enjoy it to the last drop.

These salon visits were set in stone on my school girl calendar. Don’t touch my Friday afternoons they were reserved for time with my mother. It felt like the time flew by in the shop and before I knew it were walking out with fresh hair swaying in the wind. You couldn’t tell us nothing! Our stylist were the bomb.

If I can go back in time I’d make these Friday’s with mom every Friday. I cherished them and they became mother daughter time. I’ve always looked forward to one day doing the same with my very own daughter. It was beyond hair it was about embracing, culture, building family, and making priceless memories.

Memories like these can never be forgotten. There are many more mother daughter memories I could share but I wanted to share my mother’s. It’s her day but in our family her day is everyday. I love you mommy and all the memories we’ve ever shared.

Happy Mother’s Day Love Your Baby Girl!

Moroccan Magic

Take me to Morocco and let me lay by the water side being kissed by the suns rays. That would be the life but back to reality. The reality is at this moment I can’t get to Morocco just yet, at least my lips can.

For the past few months I’ve been using my favorite chap-stick “Moroccan Magic” and baby it’s magic.

My lips are coated in moisturized goodness and left as supple as a baby’s bottom.

Moroccan Magic is an organic lip balm formula used with the highest grade or organic cold pressed Moroccan agran oil, essential oils, and herbs.

This is one lip balm I never leave home without and neither should you.

Be sure to grab your Moroccan Magic and be whisked away one kiss at a time……

Quarter 2

Were officially in the second half of the year. The first quarter went flying by and I feel like I was as busy as a bee. Being busy is one thing but being productive is the ultimate goal.
